Thoughts: Though having the band curse a little for the first time, Styrofoam isn’t much of a departure for Emery, and that’s okay. There’s more of a punk leaning to it than previous releases, but there’s no doubting that this is Emery we’re listening to. Songs like “Slurry,” “Blockbuster Nights,” and “Dopamine” succeed through grinding guitars and energetic “fuck you” attitudes. Other tracks, like “Deadbeat” and “Keyser Söze,” roll like rollercoasters building to an explosive finale. This is a very enjoyable return from longtime rockers Emery, even if the screaming sounds far less desirable than it has on previous outings.

Two Tracks OSM Would Make the Singles: “Stimulated” and “Numbers” both have that classic Emery touch that shines.
