Thoughts: After the wild success of NSFW, The Paradox have returned with another EP, a collection that is slightly more varied than their first punk rock offering. Though not as memorable as NSFW, several of the tracks here are the best work by the band, like “I Kinda Like That” and “Living Hell.” However, “That’s Not Fair,” stands out for being more old-school punk by comparison, making it a song that really should have been a b-side instead of a primary listing. Nonetheless, it is a lyrically-driven song that speaks to the masses (and to those of us who like old-school punk offerings). “Good for Me” spills major Blink-182 and New Found Glory vibes; “Stone Mentality” coos with an easy-going flow without losing the energy of the band; and “It’s Over” sounds like a culmination of the band’s favorites. Proceed with Caution wears their influences on its sleeves, but so did NSFW and we love that record, too.
Two Tracks that OSM Would Make the Singles: “I Kinda Like That” (probably the most infectiously catchy track on the EP) and “Living Hell” (with its bouncy chorus begging for crowd-participation)
